History of Furu Site: Before & After Mononobe Clan

Tenri University Sankokan Museum
Finished
The area around Tenri Sankokan is a large settlement site called Furu Site, where the ancient powerful clan Mononobe clan lived during the Kofun period. Excavation surveys have been conducted at the Furu Site for about 80 years, revealing remains not only from the Kofun period but also from the Paleolithic, Jomon, and ancient to medieval periods, showing traces of life in this area over a long period.

This exhibition will trace the long history of the Furu Site from the Jomon period to the medieval period using photos and excavated artifacts from excavation surveys.
