Genealogy Exhibition of Gogoe and Ryukyu Painters

Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum
Until May 11
Since the existence of the Gogoe painting was confirmed in March 2024, experts have conducted condition surveys, fluorescent X-ray analysis, and high-definition photography.
In the future, Okinawa Prefecture plans to make repairs for preservation and disclosure based on this information.

In this exhibition, a replica using data from high-definition photography specializing in cultural properties conducted with the cooperation of the Tokyo Institute of Cultural Properties will be released for a limited time from April 22nd (Tuesday) to 30th (Wednesday).

In addition, we will introduce the genealogy of Ryukyu painters who drew the posterior while using painting materials owned by the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum.
