Finnish Lifestyle Design Illuminates Everyday Life

Finland, renowned as a powerhouse of Nordic design, has produced works that are simple, functional, and warm and have been beloved worldwide across generations. This exhibition explores the history of Finnish design through masterpieces of furniture, ceramics, glass, tableware, and textiles. Highlights include the iconic modern design of the "Stool 60" and other classic pieces by architect Alvar Aalto (1898–1976), the popular "Kilta" tableware series by designer Kaj Franck (1911–1989), the whimsical and vibrant glass works of Oiva Toikka (1931–2019), known for his "Bird" series, and the textile designs of Fujiwo Ishimoto (1941–), who has made significant contributions to Marimekko.

The exhibition features celebrated chairs crafted from the bounties of the forest, colorful and humorous glass pieces that add vibrancy to everyday life, and simple yet versatile ceramics that are practical and stylish.
