Collection Masterpiece Exhibition - "Extraordinary within the Ordinary"

Ikeda Museum of 20th Century Art
Finished
How do people perceive the everyday in the chaotic world? Living in a world where the ordinary can transform into the extraordinary with a single event, people find themselves in a constant cycle of creating new values for their daily lives. Looking back at history, one might see that human society has progressed through a repetition of events such as natural disasters, pandemics, and conflicts.

This exhibition explores how painters from the 20th century confronted and viewed the everyday. Picasso's "The Poor Meal," skillfully captures the struggles of those living in harsh conditions; Goro Saito's "People at the Bus Stop," evokes dreams and playfulness in daily life; Tomohiro Muda's "Pompeii," expresses the memories of history etched into each passing day from a fresh perspective. Approximately 50 works will be displayed.
