Kiyosu City Haruhi Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Tetsu Okada
Born in Nagoya City and largely self-taught in painting techniques, Tetsu Okada (1914-2007) continued to depict the absurdities of society despite facing cultural suppression during wartime. He was one of the leading figures in surrealistic art in the Tokai region, serving as the representative of the public solicitation group "Art and Culture Association," and actively engaging in art education for children and discourse on the art world. His diverse activities had a significant impact on the region.

In commemoration of his 110th birth anniversary, this exhibition introduces work by Okada from the museum's collection. Additionally, as a special exhibit, the "Target" series in watercolor and oil pastel (from a private collection) will also be on display.
