Artists

Aya Cagiu
Aya Cagiu is an artist who reinterprets embroidery as a form of prayer and challenges its place in the modern world. Embroidery, historically seen as protective talismans, lost its spiritual essence with mass production. Cagiu returns to the original prayerful nature of embroidery by painstakingly crafting each thread with heartfelt wishes. Cagiu's work reflects the Japanese tradition of learning from nature and cultivating poetic imagination and sensibility. In this exhibition, Cagiu showcases the fragility of fabric, framing the works in brass frames and displaying 26 works, some with translucent backs.
