Kiyohide Hori

Kiyohide Hori studied photography in New York and has continued to create his own practice while working in a wide range of fields including magazines, advertising, and portrait photography. He has been strongly influenced by Allen Ginsberg, the legendary poet of the Beat Culture in the 1950s, who called for a return to the primitive in order to regain humanity. In "RED," which will be shown for the first time, Hori turns his gaze to the inside of himself and pursues the answer to the question, "Who am I?

In addition to the "RED" series, this three-part exhibition will feature works by Hori since the 1990s, as well as his handmade photo books, which can be said to be the starting point of his creative activities. The exhibition shows the path of self-exploration by Hori, who describes his work as a “picture poem.”
