The Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Arts Council Tokyo, the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, and the Pavilion Tokyo 2021 Executive Committee will hold ‘Pavilion Tokyo 2021’ as part of the TokyoTokyo Festival Special 13. Pavilion Tokyo 2021” is a project that aims to share with the world the appeal of Japanese culture that is still unknown to the rest of the world. In recent years, six Japanese architects and two artists who have been active in various parts of the world have been asked to design their own unique pavilions, which will be installed in the area around the New National Stadium to introduce the future of architecture and art. Each of the eight pavilions will be filled with the wishes of the architects and artists for the future of Tokyo, and visitors will be able to explore the pavilions like treasure hunters with a map in hand, or while taking a walk. The seven participating creators are Terunobu Fujimori, Kazuyo Sejima, Sosuke Fujimoto, Junya Ishigami, Akihisa Hirata, Teppei Fujiwara, Makoto Aida, and Yayoi Kusama. Pavilion Tokyo 2021” will be held from July 1 (Thursday) to September 5 (Sunday), 2021, and visitors will be able to see the pavilion at various locations in Tokyo during the exhibition period. During the exhibition period, the pavilion will be open to the public at various locations in Tokyo.
