“Fluxus” was an art movement from the 60’s and 70’s led by George Maciunas. Taking place in the United States, Europe and Japan, it covered multiple artistic disciplines, like music, poetry, film, and theater. However, the movement is also characterized by its covering mundane acts like dining, sports, cleaning. The spirit of Fluxus was to find ‘Art’ in everyday life, and it continues to influence artists to this day.
This is the first ever ‘voluntary’ Fluxus exhibition organized by a Japanese museum. 500 works collected in Japan will be on display, along with visual, aural, printed, and performed presentations of Fluxus. An opportunity to experience Fluxus first-hand will also be available.
Museum will be closed from Dec.27 to Jan.04.
