Foil was established in 2004, and has introduced many people to the allure of contemporary art by publishing a number of books featuring the work of such artists as Yoshitomo Nara and Rink Kawauchi. Foil gallery opens exhibitions under the idea that we can suggest another way of presenting the allure of art by seeing it from a new viewpoint.
Foil Gallery will present a wide range of exhibitions; some exhibitions will be related to the books published by Foil and some will be on independent themes.
Foil Gallery also approaches the international art market through the management of gallery artists, and by trying to discover and introduce both Japanese and international artists.
