Yusuke Yoshi
Flat River Gallery will be holding Yusuke Yoshi's "Gu-Show" exhibition from October 1, 2024.
Yusuke Yoshi encountered the material called galvanized iron plate when he was a student and has since created sculptures with a particular focus on galvanized iron. Mainly inspired by the shapes of man-made objects such as architecture and tools, he creates sculptures that are neither too large nor too small.
They have slightly humorous shapes, yet have sharp edges, and while at times eloquently assert themselves, they also exist modestly, as if they are an extension of everyday life. For sculptors who are very particular about "form," the question of "concrete or abstract"
has been debated for a long time, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is the basis and essence of creating a work. In this exhibition, Yoshi explores "FORM” while boldly considering the boundary between "concrete” and "abstract” expression. Please take this opportunity to take a look.
