Artists

Yuki Inoue
Since his first solo exhibition in 2003, Yuki Inoue has created works featuring salamanders as the primary motif. These salamanders evolved into humanoid forms aspiring to become human, and have been presented as artworks imbued with critique of human society while observing and encompassing the world from above.

In this exhibition, under the new series "Mask," Inoue will unveil artworks based on the human body. Many individuals in today's society, despite being born as humans with their egos and personalities, find themselves covering their faces with temporary masks. They harbor a desire to be acknowledged for who they are, yet simultaneously seek identification with someone or something else, sometimes attempting to balance these dual identities.

The artist, who has previously surveyed the world through the evolved salamanders, now approaches the boundary between reality and idealism, exploring the true and false images of humanity.
