Mental disorders are an "invisible disability." The boundary between patients and non-patients is not clear, and anyone can develop one. These video works by Yuki Iiyama explore what it means to confront and be close to the narratives surrounding people with mental disorders. It presents the works "Going to Look for Your True Home" and "Going to Meet Kannon at the Sea," which the artist produced with her mentally disabled sister, and "Hidden Names," which examines how mental hospitals function and how discussions about people with mental disorders have been handled. Let's think about what we can do to create a society free from discrimination against people with mental disabilities.
