Artists

Yuji Tezuka
Yuji Tezuka gained recognition early in his career, entering the Nitten and becoming a member of the Nihon Bijutsuin by 39. Now 70, he blends traditional and modern styles, exploring themes like beauty and solitude. The exhibition highlights a six-by-twelve-meter work Eigaku soryu (Double Dragons above Hieizan) created over five years with sumi ink on the old ceiling boards. This work reflects his prayer for peace and offers a rare preview ahead of the 400th anniversary of Kan’eiji in 2025.
