At the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media (YCAM), as part of the exhibition series "Yamaguchi Seasonal 2024," which showcases installation works previously produced and presented by YCAM in various locations in Yamaguchi City's downtown area and historic sites, they will exhibit the installation piece "Forest Symphony" by Ryuichi Sakamoto + YCAM.
This work is a sound installation that generates sounds from bio-data of trees from around the world, applying media technology and created in collaboration between the artist Ryuichi Sakamoto and YCAM. It is one of the representative works originating from YCAM.
Since its initial unveiling in 2013, it has been exhibited extensively both domestically and internationally, receiving high acclaim. From 2020 onwards, it has been periodically displayed at Jouei-ji Temple in Yamaguchi City, known for its Sesshu-tei garden, and this marks the fifth consecutive year of exhibition.
