Since 2017, the Tanabe City Museum of Art has been hosting an exhibition series titled "Contemporary Weaving," showcasing artists who pioneer modern expression through their unique and sophisticated weaving techniques. In conjunction with this year's "Contemporary Weaving 7: Michiko Sakuma" exhibition at the Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art (a branch of the Tanabe City Museum of Art), a special exhibition will be held to present works by artists previously featured in the "Contemporary Weaving" series, highlighting the allure of new weaving forms. The exhibition will also include a section dedicated to the works of Takao Ushio (1938–2021), whose posthumous works were donated last year.
