Une Asai
Une Asai was born in Wakayama Prefecture and currently lives and works in Tokyo. From her childhood to the present, she has had a strange hallucination that whenever she concentrates on something, a long, transparent, granular object called "undulation" appears in her field of vision. Using the undulations as a motif, she continues to create colorful works that express the beauty of the undulations and the movement of her emotions.
In this exhibition, Asai will present about 8 works in the Inception series, which are painted using the undulations, and new work from the recent Meditation series.
As the title “Meditation Trip" suggests, this exhibition will be a rare opportunity to view a world in which Asai's work is both the culmination of her past and the development of a new creative process.
