Tsutomu Haraguchi

Tsutomu Haraguchi, known also as Art Holy Men, is a self-taught artist who has been creating comic-inspired paintings. The artist combines traditional oil painting techniques with comic-style line drawings. Haraguchi's works explore contemporary issues like image saturation in consumer society, media, and global art dynamics. Haraguchi also delves into installations rooted in local history and acts as a curator. This exhibition will mainly display works from the new series New-Style Advertising, which is a further evolution and deepening of the recent Global series, which focuses on globalism and locality as major themes. These works incorporate elements from major brands, conveying multifaceted messages akin to subliminal advertising. The pieces can also be seen as modern landscape paintings utilizing pop art techniques.
