Tomoyuki Shinki + Katsuhiro Terao "Two Iron Man"

Watowa Gallery / The Box Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Tomoyuki Shinki, Katsuhiro Terao
The artistic styles of Tomoyuki Shinki and Katsuhiro Terao differ. Shinki depicts athletes. He deforms the athletes and carefully captures their movements. The dense colors, comicality, and dynamism of the paintings are full of vitality and energy. On the other hand, Terao's background as a welder at a forge has led him to create “plans." His work, "Steel Structure Plan," is not only massive but also dense, unfocused, and delicate. If the two artists have anything in common, it is that their motifs- athletes for Shinki and steel for Terao- are fixed, giving both of them an exclusive approach to their work.
