To commemorate the 140th anniversary of the Bank of Japan, the Bank of Japan Currency Museum is pleased to present a special exhibition introducing the history of the development of the currency and financial system in the early Meiji period up to the establishment of the central bank in 1882, along with woodblock prints depicting the Nihonbashi river from the late Edo period to the early Meiji period.
