The Belle Époque - The Beautiful Era: Artists Gathered in Paris, Centering on the Weismann & Michael Collection

Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art
Finished
"The Belle Époque" refers to the glamorous culture and era that flourished in Paris from the late 19th century to the outbreak of World War I. During this time, artists from various fields such as visual arts, music, literature, dance, stage, and fashion gathered in Paris. They interacted with each other, allowing their respective arts to flourish. Even today, one can still feel the remnants of that era in Paris.

This exhibition focuses on the "Beautiful Era" and the works from shortly after, providing a multi-layered introduction to various aspects of culture. The centerpiece of this exhibition is the collection of David E. Weismann and Jacqueline E. Michael, which will be publicly displayed in Japan for the first time.
