The Belle Époque - The Beautiful Era: Artists Gathered in Paris, Centering on the Weismann & Michael Collection

Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts
Finished
This exhibition is inspired by the film "Dilili in Paris" (2018), set in the golden age of Paris known as the Belle Époque. Spanning the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Belle Époque is fondly remembered as a beautiful era marked by the flourishing of various arts and sciences, not just visual art. The exhibition showcases the vibrant scenes of Paris where artists gathered, through a diverse collection of works from both domestic and international sources. Highlights include posters by Toulouse-Lautrec and Chéret, as well as crafts, fashion items, and rare books that enriched everyday life during this splendid period.
