Tatsuhide Matsuoka
Tatsuhide Matsuoka, born in Nagaoka in 1944, has been passionate about nature since childhood. Matsuoka moved to Tokyo at 19 to become a graphic designer and debuted as a picture book author in 1969. Matsuoka's global travels and rich experiences have led to numerous award-winning picture books, many of which are internationally published. This exhibition features around 100 of Matsuoka's picture book illustrations, donated to Nagaoka City, along with insect specimens the artist collected. It celebrates the artist's 56-year artistic career and love for nature.
