In recent years, Tamaki Yoshida has been developing works that question the relationship between people, nature, and living creatures, using wild beasts as her subjects, while using a unique technique of mixing everyday chemicals such as detergent and toothpaste during film development, inspired by a failed film development process.
In this exhibition, fragile yet courageous beasts reveal themselves and speak to the viewer in two spaces: the darkroom of the Tojo Kaikan Photography Institute, which has produced many portrait photographs, and the basement where water, essential for the production of silver halide photographs, was regulated.
