Artists

Takeo Takei
Takeo Takei was an artist who aimed to create art that touched children's hearts from the Taisho to the Showa era. After studying under Seiki Kuroda and Takeji Fujishima, Takei demonstrated an innovative and artistic design sense in the inaugural issue of the picture book magazine "Kodomonokuni." Thinking illustrations in children's magazines were merely decorative, Takei was determined to pursue a career as a children's book illustrator, insisting that children should be given genuine art. Exploring the possibilities of expression, Takei developed a unique creative world in various fields, including painting, printmaking, illustration, design, bookbinding, and toy creation.
