Purpose and Activities
The Sato International Cultural Scholarship Foundation was established in March 1990 for the purpose of operating art museums, providing scholarship assistance to domestic and international students majoring in art, and contributing to the promotion of mutual understanding through international exchange through art. Among the Foundation's programs, the scholarship assistance program is a particular focus of the Foundation. This program, which began in 1991, provides scholarships to Japanese students recommended by art universities throughout Japan and foreign students from abroad and organizes exhibitions of their research presentations. The Foundation's scholarship program also helps young artists in various ways after their scholarship has been awarded. We provide opportunities for them to exhibit their works, mainly through exhibitions organized by our curators. In addition, we aim to provide a place for exchange among artists that transcends the boundaries of expression and nationality.

Collection
In 1990, the "International Garden and Greenery Exposition" was held at Tsurumi-ryokuchi, Osaka, under the theme "Creation of a prosperous 21st century where people and nature are in harmony," which was a big hit at the time. The "Flowers and Greenery/Nihonga Museum," which was located within the exposition, exhibited new works on the theme of flowers, greenery, and nature by 50 contemporary Japanese painters representing the Japanese art world, and was well received. After the exposition, the works were donated to the museum and formed the basis of the museum's collection. Today, the museum continues to collect contemporary Japanese paintings with the themes of flowers, greenery, and nature.

Exhibition Planning
In addition to the two-year scholarship, the Museum's Scholarship Assistance Program also provides scholarship recipients with the opportunity to exhibit their work at the Scholarship Art Exhibition. In addition, the museum actively plans and holds exhibitions featuring past scholarship recipients who have been remarkably active, as well as solo and group exhibitions of artists who will be needed by society in the future, in addition to the scholarship recipients.

Rental Gallery
The museum's exhibition rooms are open to young artists for solo and group exhibitions, graduation exhibitions, research presentations, etc. (However, there is a fee, and screening is required.) For details, please contact the museum office.
