Summer Twilight

Yumeji Birthplace Memorial Museum・Shonensanso
Finished

Artists

Yumeji Takehisa
At the artist's birthplace, which features an exhibition room remodeled from a traditional storehouse, newly acquired hand-painted works such as the newly unveiled "Summer Twilight" and "Tanabata," which graced the cover of 'Fujin Graph,' are on display. These works, themed around the artist's hometown and seasons, are showcased along with the room from Yumeji Takehisa's childhood that still retains window frames inscribed with his sister's name. Additionally, the scroll painting "For the Stars" is on special display in honor of the Tanabata Festival. Visitors who write a wish on a tanzaku for the bamboo decorations in the garden will receive a postcard as a gift. Experience a time trip to Takehisa's hometown, where one can find Yumeji-style beauties enjoying the Taisho-era romance in yukatas and with fans on summer evenings.

At Shonensanso, works are exhibited with themes of life, design, and music, introducing Takehisa's personality through photographs and personal belongings. Visitors can view Takehisa's work as a designer, including those featured in 'Fujin Graph' and "Awake, My Blue Eyes," while listening to the songs in the Senoo Music Scores. There are also hands-on corners for activities such as making tote bags.
