Artists

Suehiro Maruo
Ever since his debut as an artist in the 1980s, Suehiro Maruo has continued to share with the world his penetrating aesthetic sensibilities, which are interwoven with an essence that is both beautiful and vulgar. The unique worldview he expresses has garnered fans not only throughout Japan but around the entire world, as it continues to impress and move viewers of all ages, never losing its potency over the years. This latest exhibition and sales event features roughly 20 pieces including a screen-printed re-creation of a frontispiece for Shojo Tsubaki ("Camellia Girl") that had been lost for many years, an original version of the manga Karigari Hakase no Fukkatsu ("The Return of Dr. Caligari"), never-before-seen color drawings, some concept drawings, and more.
