In Stilllive 2024, under the concept of "Kinetic Net," a temporal-spatial performance constructed by movement, light, and sound, multiple artists' bodies embody the flow of movement presented as an installation and performance. "Kinetic Net" is envisioned as actions and movements created by a net of light. In the first half, an installation is built with the movement of bodies, light, and sound, while in the latter, a performance responsive to the raw dynamism flowing through the city, using fish finders, is conducted. Stilllive poses questions about hierarchies surrounding life. Throughout history, humanity has engaged in acts of capturing not only animals but also fellow humans (prisoners of war, human trafficking, prisons, etc.), and contemporary products such as neoliberalism and surveillance systems ironically manage and control human behavior.

In this edition of Stilllive, while questioning the (in)visible constraints/freedoms and dominations/freedoms of the body, the significance of bodily expressions close to life is explored. Artists actively engaged in contemporary art and performing arts, such as Maiko Inui, Mai Endo, Yuki Kobayashi, Marina Lisa Komiya, Twako Sano, Shin Hanagata, Karu Miyoshi, MES, and Taku Yoshida, are invited to collaborate on joint productions based on dialogue and workshops. MES, responsible for spatial configuration alongside performances, constructs a living installation where playfulness and meditation coexist with laser light and sound. Each artist freely swims through space like a school of small fish entering and exiting a net of light, gradually gathering and dispersing. Through such dialectical play of capture/captured, the dynamic of the body, offering a vivid sense of life despite its uncertainty, is presented.
