Miran Fukuda
Miran Fukuda (1963-) is a contemporary artist active both in Japan and abroad who won the Yasui Prize, which is said to be the gateway to success in figurative painting, as the youngest artist after graduating from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts. He cuts sharply into the problems of modern society, and at times presents them with humor and turns them into paintings. Even now, he continues to challenge new possibilities of painting.

In this exhibition, works from the early 1980s to recent years are organized into four chapters, an introduction and three chapters introducing the artist. The exhibition will introduce Miran Fukuda's worldview with about 50 works, from works that face masterpieces of all ages and countries from a unique perspective unique to Fukuda to works that focus on current affairs in Japan and overseas with a sharp perspective. A new work created especially for this exhibition that reflects the current state of the world will also be exhibited.

In 1992, the Nagoya City Art Museum hosted an exhibition by Miran Fukuda and Yasumasa Morimura. This exhibition will be the museum's first in about 30 years, and Fukuda's first solo exhibition in the Chubu region.
