Side Core
Side Core is an art team developing art projects in public spaces and streets. In recent years, their activities have garnered increasing attention, and this exhibition marks their first large-scale solo exhibition in Tokyo.
For example, Side Core creates works by focusing on the unique public nature and systems of the city and intervening/negotiating with them. This includes photographing highways, railways, and underground waterways using special methods, creating installations using materials like streetlights, guardrails, and road construction signs found in public spaces, and producing documentary videos of rat dolls simply walking through Tokyo at night. Their methods of expression are constantly expanding and evolving, making them artists not to be missed in the present progressive tense.
Additionally, this exhibition extends beyond the interior of the museum to its surrounding environment, allowing viewers to see how imagination about the city expands through art.
