Shoko Yomogizawa
Sapporo-based printmaker Shoko Yomogizawa has been creating installations with human-shaped objects made of paper and wax since 2006, inspired by Shin Hongo's Innocent People. Yomogizawa's work expresses empathy for those affected by turmoil. This exhibition features Yomogizawa's reimagined Happy Re-Birthday to Fukushima + Sapporo, newly acquired in 2023. The work, focused on evacuees from the 2011 disaster, now includes new elements in its 2024 version.
