Shoji Funakawa melts the boundaries between "artificial" and "natural" through various media, revealing the individual specificity of experiences that unfold in this process within the exhibition space. Here, the distinction between human subjectivity and natural objectivity is nullified, and even the units of authorship and artwork lose much of their meaning. Yet, the "something" that can only be described as concrete still exists—a reality experienced by both humans and things. There is a profound realism here.
This exhibition throws fundamental events like a projectile from a point far beyond art, far beyond us, nearer to the origin than meaning or value—a point much more laborious than whether it is art, this exhibition strongly affirms the potentiality of the world.
