Shiro Tomatsu
The west side of Osaka is an area that still retains a strong Showa-era atmosphere and is representative of the downtown area.

In 2013, 10 years ago, photographer Shiro Tomatsu released "The Dome," a series of photographs of Kyocera Dome Osaka in Nishi Ward and the surrounding area. This is the first work for Tomatsu, who photographed the giant dome, which can be seen from anywhere in town, from far and near, and from a variety of locations.

The dome, which looks like a large creature sitting in downtown Osaka, is an alien presence that does not blend in with the cityscape, and at times gives the viewer an indescribably humorous feeling.

This exhibition will be held on the 10th anniversary of the publication of the book and will feature photographs taken from the same locations and angles as those taken 10 years ago.
