The Taka Ishii Gallery in Maebashi will host Shinpei Kusanagi's solo exhibition titled "Where Whales Approach the Shore and Tigers Lurk in the Fields" from June 29 to August 11. This marks Kusanagi's sixth exhibition at the gallery in three years. The exhibition will showcase the artist's latest paper and painting works. Kusanagi's art draws inspiration from nature, reflecting a pioneering spirit and determination reminiscent of ancient texts. The paper works, created during challenging times, exhibit a delicate and pure atmosphere, while the paintings on canvas use staining techniques to layer vibrant colors and create deep spatial effects. Kusanagi's recent works highlight dynamic abstract expressions with refined color harmony and compelling compositions.
