"Beyond the Threshold" showcases Shingo Francis' latest paintings at Galerie Paris from May 13 to June 3, 2023. In this new series of paintings, Shingo Francis explores the various psychological, emotional, physical, philosophical, and theoretical spaces of "Threshold."
During the height of the pandemic, Francis initiated a practice of drawing daily to capture and express the uncertainty injected into our lives. Over time, the "Daily Drawing" series started to find its way into the "Infinite Space" series of works, manifesting into artworks presented at "Beyond the Threshold." These works include another dimension of color and movement through layering translucent coats of pigments and painting medium.
With many changes and challenges facing our communities and society, Francis' work suggests that finding an expression from within is necessary.
