Sara Wu, Sean Tseng
"Okuyuki" (Un-Flattened)is not only a term used to describe space, but also a concept that implies a deep imagination about the real world. The creative processes and works of Sara & Sean Tseng resonate with this concept. The two artists have developed their unique expressions through the exploration of space and the collage of natural and artificial materials, using photography, sculpture, and installation as their main mediums. Photography, which came from the West, is a recording and two-dimensional medium. However, perceptual experiences in the real world are different, as space and matter intersect in more complex ways. In this exhibition, Wu & Tseng reinterpret and reconstruct their own experiences, unlocking the hidden space within the two-dimensionality of photography while also updating the bodily and sensory experiences within space. In addition to their past works, they will create new pieces that respond to the space of gallery Unfold, transforming the perception of photography, which is dependent on vision, into a bodily experience, offering a philosophical and poetic perspective.
