With the progression of blockchain technology, the PFP (picture for proof) movement has ventured into a distinctive cultural realm and evolved as one form of NFT (non-fungible token).
This exhibition focuses on PFP and explores its meaning from various perspectives, ranging from digital identity, internet culture, financialization phenomena, meme culture, and character representation, to communities and DAOs (decentralized autonomous organizations). Examining the potential and issues inherent in this culture, the exhibition aims to provide a multifaceted understanding.
Organized by the Shibuya Creative Tech Executive Committee and co-hosted by Shibuya City, this exhibition is part of the art and tech event "Dig Shibuya 2024." As part of related activities, there are plans to host talk events and more.
