Bringing together Furuta’s long-standing engagement with painting and her more recent exploration of ceramics, this exhibition examines the shifting interplay between abstraction and figuration, as well as the evolving relationship between different mediums. Vivid, warm hues trace lines and forms that, through repeated strokes, give rise to abstract imagery shaped by chance. The colors that construct her painted images transform within the materiality and glazes of ceramics, emerging as people, animals, and landscapes—existing as objects in space. When the gestures of color, line, and form coalesce into landscapes and objects, how do they manifest in our present world, and what stories do they begin to tell? Please participate in the prelude to a new world, born from the resonant echoes that set the heart dancing.
