The "Soft Vase" piece by Jia Ling draws inspiration from a sunken ship discovered off the coast of Brunei Island, Indonesia, dating back to the Tang Dynasty. Jia Ling, with a Master's degree in Textile Art from the UK's Royal College of Art, explores the interplay between people, nature, and history through textile-based creations. Praised for having an innovative approach, Jia Ling established a textile atelier in Taipei in 2020, collaborating with various brands while continuing to exhibit artworks. Jia Ling's soft sculptural pieces, characterized by quilting, offer a contemporary perspective on ancient aesthetics. Jia Ling's art aims to evoke soft memories and reflections on nature and human history.
