Otomo the Complete Works - Akira Cel Exhibition

Mixalive Tokyo
Finished

Artists

Katsuhiro Otomo
The animated film “Akira" (1988) was directed by the artist himself, who drew the manga.

The exhibition will feature over 600 of Otomo's personal celluloid drawings and valuable handwritten layouts from the first season of the "Complete Works of Katsuhiro Otomo," including the "Storyboard Collection," as well as from the "Collection of Illustrations and Layouts," which was published in multiple volumes.

Following the manga and the movie, Katsuhiro Otomo, the creator of the film, has planned and organized this exhibition of celluloid pictures, producing a new way to enjoy the film version. The celluloid exhibition will be divided into “Neo Tokyo,” “Night-Mare," and “Catastrophe Theory" scenes to give visitors a glimpse of the film's design.
