Akiko and Masako Takada
Takada Yasukiko and Masako are a unit that carefully alters everyday items, changing their scale, and evoking subtle wonders.

When the scale changes, familiar things appear completely different. A deck of cards transformed into a carpet adorned with embroidery, a floor repaired with tiles reduced to 1/12 in size. Just like being gently drawn into a small hole, we find ourselves being led into a modest world. When we encounter their works, a switch is softly pressed, and warm imaginations quickly unfold.

For their public production, Akiko and Masako Takada focus on the parks around the Fuchu Art Museum and the nature that spreads there. Based on the principle of "fractals," where parts and the whole share the same structure, they explore the truths and laws hidden in the shapes of plant leaves and fruits. Using various methods such as collage, embroidery, and drawing, they sometimes experimentally seek new expressions.
