Arts Maebashi, a public art museum in Maebashi, Gunma, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, having opened in October 2013 as an art museum in a renovated commercial facility in downtown Maebashi.

Since its opening, the museum has served as a base for cultural and artistic activities by citizens and artists and has hosted many exhibitions and community art projects. Its location in the center of the city has also led to expectations for the creation of a lively atmosphere through art and the revitalization of the city center, which is experiencing a hollowing out of its character.

This exhibition, "New Horizon," is a program to open a new collaboration between the city and the museum for the next 10 years, based on the cultural and artistic activities of Arts Maebashi that have been carried out in cooperation with the citizens.

With Arts Maebashi as the main venue, a variety of art activities will be developed in cooperation with the surrounding facilities and communities that are undergoing redevelopment, including immersive digital art and theater performances using vacant buildings and tenants, projection mapping to bring out the charm of historical architecture, and collaborative outdoor sculpture production by children and artists.
