NHK Taiga Dorama Dosuru Ieyasu ("What will you do, Ieyasu?")

Mitsui Memorial Museum
Finished
The 2023 NHK Taiga Drama will be the 62nd "Dousuru Ieyasu.” Ieyasu Tokugawa has appeared in numerous historical dramas, but this will be the first time in 40 years since "Tokugawa Ieyasu" in 1983 that the warlord will be the main character.

Ieyasu lived in a war-torn world, a time when unexpected things happened one after another. Ieyasu, as a leader, was faced with many "What to do? Ieyasu, as a leader, was confronted with many "what to do" questions, and even when he was in a pinch, he never ran away but kept on giving answers and brought the turbulent times to an end. The same is true today, where the future is uncertain. In this year's Taiga Drama, Ieyasu is portrayed as a leader who is relevant to the modern age, and his relationships with various people are depicted with great importance.

In conjunction with the NHK historical drama “Dousuru Ieyasu," this exhibition introduces items related to Ieyasu Tokugawa, Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and various other warlords, as well as art and historical documents from the same period, to bring Ieyasu Tokugawa and the era in which he lived into sharp relief.
