Matsuzakaya Art Museum
Until Jul 28

Artists

Momoko Sakura
This exhibition honors the late Momo Sakura, a prolific artist known for her roles as a manga artist, essayist, lyricist, and scriptwriter, who continuously created new characters and essays.

Her renowned manga series "Chibi Maruko-chan," which began serialization in 1986 and became a beloved national treasure for both adults and children following its anime adaptation in 1990. Following this success, her debut essay collection "Momono Kanzume," published in 1991, became a massive bestseller, selling over 2.5 million copies. This exhibition will present numerous representative works alongside original handwritten manuscripts and color illustrations in an unprecedented volume.

While fully enjoying both drawing and writing, Sakura Momo was deeply passionate about the changing seasons and the small moments of daily life. This exhibition aims to deliver her full charm without reservation.
