Artists

Moe Nakase
Born and raised in the foothills of Fujino, Kanagawa Prefecture, Moe Nakase's artwork has been shaped by a variety of influences produced by her relationship with nature. Self-taught in encaustic, a painting technique in which pigments are mixed with molten beeswax, Nakase has exhibited work both in Japan and abroad while developing this technique into her own method.

Her paintings, created with a solid technique, seem to reflect the emotion, intuition, and fleeting feeling drawn from being amid changing nature and experiencing its delicacy first-hand.
This exhibition encourages interaction with the work that involves the viewer and attempts to create a new dialogue.

Nakase places painting alongside sound, as a catalyst to trigger imagination and creation within ourselves. Taihei (Taihei Sakurauchi / born in 1992 in Himi, Toyama), a keyboard player and leader of the drumless band 'Sai', who has been involved in various activities including supporting various artists and creating music for plays, has created sounds for this exhibition. These sounds were produced through communication with Nakase's paintings based on scenes of nature and travel. The music created by the rally between the works will resonate in the space where they are exhibited.
