Miyo Ogawa
Miyo Ogawa has been showcasing work that brings reality to temporal elements, traces, and the inherent absence within photographs through various forms such as flat images, installations, and videos.

This exhibition will display new works from the series "Re-record," where Ogawa applies heat to the film she has shot and developed, inducing material changes. The series explores the phenomenon where the act of applying heat adds new events to the film itself, and even after the image has been fixed, the film continues to be updated. Ogawa has presented color works by digitally copying parts of the film, creating visuals reminiscent of underwater photography but filled with vibrant colors that suggest an excessive force, making it impossible for viewers to confirm the images the artist originally captured.

The exhibition's title, "Intersum," is derived from the Latin term meaning "it was once in between." Roland Barthes himself quoted this term in his book "Bright Room" to emphasize the significant characteristic of photography, representing "it was once there."

The new work presented in this exhibition focuses on photographic works using the technique of photograms, portraying films that have transformed into "memory objects" that would have once captured images.
