Mio Hashimoto "Beings that Mark Time"

Sano Art Museum
Finished

Artists

Mio Hashimoto
Mio Hashimoto's sculptures (born 1980) evoke warmth and capture the individuality of animals Hashimoto has encountered. Inspired by the devastation of the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, the artist aims to preserve the brilliance of lost lives through art. This exhibition, themed "time," connects the lives of the model animals with Hashimoto’s experiences, featuring new sculptures, unpublished works, sketches, and notes. It invites reflection on the significance of remembering and preserving the lives of animals alongside us.
