Artists

Minouk Lim
Minouk Lim is a representative artist of Korea. Her creative activities, which span art and politics, past and present, and individual and community, evoke various forgotten and hidden voices and existences in contemporary society through various methods. Her work has been consistently featured not only in the global art scene but also in Japan, such as the Setouchi Triennale 2016 and the Aichi Triennale 2019.

This time, Lim has received the production grant "Vision of the City" from the Obayashi Foundation for Public Interest, and will simultaneously hold a water-based performance tour cruising around the Sumida River and Tokyo Bay and an exhibition at the Komagome Warehouse as the result of two years of research and creation in Japan. The title "Hyper Yellow" refers to a state that transcends the color yellow, signifying the transcendence of specific colors or races, expressing fragile boundaries and relationships that do not exist anywhere but are present everywhere. The performance tour, experienced by transcending boundaries fluidly, should become a journey where history, nation, faith, and ecological and geographical senses are reorganized through the interplay of music and guides flowing within the houseboat and events held along the riverside.
