Michiko Tsuda "So Far, Not Far"

Kanazawa Art Gummi
Finished

Artists

Michiko Tsuda
Michiko Tsuda moved to Kanazawa two years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic disaster. She says that running, which she started after moving to Kanazawa, made her realize the similarities between art and sports, a culture that is open to everyone and has a broad base of players, and a way of interacting with the body that is unique to athletes and different from that of dancers.

In this exhibition, Tsuda will present a new video installation focusing on "running" and "voicing" in the field of Kanazawa. Related events include "and run," a lecture/performance and running event selected as part of the “And21+" program for fiscal 2023, which is co-sponsored by the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. The exhibition will be the starting point for various explorations that may fundamentally change the perception of sports, art, and Kanazawa.
